Pix Safety Matches

Albert Pick & Co., c. 1915, 14 3/4". This is a stately 4-column machine; conservative and solid. I really like it. I'm not sure who made it, though, because Silent Salesmen Too says it was "private labeled for the Albert Pick & Co.," but then lists the manufacturer as Albert Pick & Co. So.....Albert Pick private-labeled this model for itself? I don't think so.

It bears some resemblance to other 4-column match vendors like the Specialty Model D, the Samuel Cupples, and the Safety Match, despite a whole bunch of differences in the details between those models and this one. It looks nothing like the Advance/Diamond match machine, another 4-column match vendor, which I say just so you don't think they all look alike.

The example above is 100% original and in great condition. It was an ebay purchase, and when it arrived it was nicer than I'd expected based on the picture posted with the auction. I love it when that happens, but it doesn't happen often.
